The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner

Remember. Run. Survive.

Your previous life is over,
A new one has started.
Waking up in a lift, Thomas can only remember his name. He doesn't know who is or where does he go,
 but he's not alone.
When the lift stops, there are a lot of boys around him.
''Welcome to the Glade''
It's an enclosed space by giant walls, they open in the morning and they close at night.
Always at the same time.
Through the walls there is a maze full of
The next day, the alarm rings and someone has arrived,
she's a girl, the only one and the last one.
She recognizes Thomas.
The food and tools were arriving arriving every month, but they stop now.
They start to look for an exit through the maze.
Runners like Minho and Thomas risk their lives to find something.
Grievers (half animal half machine) are thirsty for killng, but they're the only way to
remember more.

What is CRUEL?

MAIN ACTORS

Dylan O'Brien as Thomas

The protagonist and the last boy to enter in the Glade.
Sixteen, thin, measures approximately 1.80 and appears to be a pretty strong guy
He's handsome and brave, intelligent and friendly.
He will make you be confused all the time.

Kaya Scodelario as Teresa

She knows more than she says .
She's not completely good and she makes us distruis her.
She is a thin but very little girl. She is 17 but looks to as sixteen or fifteen. Long hair black as tar. Her skin is pale white like pearls, has blue eyes, long legs and perfect lips. She's described as very beautiful.
In my opinion, I hate her, she's always confusing Thomas, she knows that has feelings for her but she doesn't give him an aswer.
She's very egocentric.

Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt

He's been a long time in the Glade and is the second in command.
He has always a plan.
He seemed much nicer than Alby, and was also taller than him, despite being smaller. He was blond, her white skin and wore long hair that fell over his shirt (In the film adaptation of The Maze Runner, has short hair) .It problems in one leg. He holds them together and manage to keep calm in stressful situations.

Ki Hong Lee as Minho

Incredibly fast, good runner.
He is the comedian, makes us laugh until the end.
We don't know his story.
He's very friendly with Thomas and He's the leader of runners.

Alm Ameen as Alby
The leader.
Alby is described as a person with dark skin and slightly lower than Newt spite of being bigger. It is regarded as a strong man described by Thomas and well developed, is 17 years old.
He's seriously great. He leaves us early.

Blake Cooper as Chuck

Chuck, being the youngest on the Glade
He's very innocent and naive.
The best definition of it would be child. Dreamer, innocent, noble and naive; but strong, because after taking three times in his pants, Chuck was able to assimilate things being assertive alone in the area and facing the Grievers with others.
Thomas consideres him like a younger brother.

Will Poulter as Gally

Gally is an inhabitant of course especially wary of Thomas from the start it becomes your first enemy. It is a participant in the Assembly of charge.
Gally is a boy of 15 or 16
who was sent to the Glade as well as the other inhabitants, is very high over 1.80 m tall. Although originally in the book it appears as dark-haired, in the film has redhead.
We hate him, He's otherwise that Thomas.

This film is based on the book ''The Maze Runner'' by James Dashner

JAMES DASHNER INSPIRATION

James Dashner explained that TMR was inspired by a number of things he watched and read over the year .
''The idea goes way back to my childhood when I saw the Stephen King movie ''The Shinning'', he said ''At the end of that movie, there is a creepy scene where the main character is chasing his son through a garden maze.'' I was way too yong to see that movie and it freaked me out, and since then I've always been a little scared of mazes. they creep me out and they fascinate me''

In highschool, he read Lord Of the Files, which he said also had an obvious influence on his novel.
''It's just the idea of all these boys trapped on an island, figuring out how to treat each other'' James said.
He also drew inspiration from Ender's Game and the television show ''Lost''
''I started brainstorming and TMR came out of it'' James said.
James wouldn't describe TMR as '' dystopian''
'' I see it as more of a post-apocalyptic tale, which is something I've always enjoyed.
